Free Programs at the Family Connection Centre in Canmore

The Town of Canmore has a few upcoming free programs at the Family Connection Centre: 

 

Screentime for Parents

This workshop is for caregivers of youth, teens, and children to learn about the challenges and strategies related to electronic devices, internet, and screentime.

Program Date: Wednesday Mar. 20 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Location: Canmore Recreation Centre, Room 115

 

Girls Connect

This program is for girls ages 10-13. This program focuses on fostering a welcoming and safe environment to discuss, explore and ask questions on important topics. Individuals are encouraged to get involved in facilitated discussions and fun activities where there are opportunities to practice the skills needed to succeed in school, relationships, and into teenage life.

Program Dates: Monday Apr 1 to Friday Apr 5 from 12:30-4:00 p.m.

Location: Scout Hall

 

Art and Conversation

Art and conversation is a program for youth/teens ages 12-15 and a caregiver to create, connect, and communicate in a supportive setting. Participants will explore a different creative medium each week, connecting and strengthening their relationships as they work together to learn something new. No artistic experience necessary.

Remaining sessions:

  • Saturday March 16: Yarn painting and going with the flow
  • Saturday April 20: Painting plant pots and inner growth

Time: 1:30-4 p.m.

Location: Scout Hall
