Regular Attendance is a necessary ingredient for academic and social success at school. It is important for parents to cooperate with the school by insisting on regular attendance for their child. Parents are asked to minimize the extension of holiday periods wherever possible.
All student attendance is tracked monthly. Should the attendance fall below 90%, the parents/guardians will be contacted and measures for improved attendance will be requested. We are aware that children may be excusably absent at certain times. In such cases, parents are required to send a note or telephone the school explaining absences.
After Grade 8 most of our students continue their education with Canadian Rockies Public Schools. Students wishing to be offered a program at Canmore Collegiate High School (CCHS) are expected to have 90 % attendance, excellent effort and a positive attitude.
